Christmas Mini session
"Ready for your mini session?
Mini sessions are a perfect way to capture family portraits for special occasions. They typically last between 10 to 15 minutes at most. I ask that you be on time, as there will be other families waiting to have their pictures taken both before and after your session. I always make an effort to respect everyone's time, so if you arrive late, it will cut into your own session time.
I suggest arriving a few minutes early, especially if you plan to dress your kids once you arrive. I understand that parents may not want their kids to get dirty on the way here, but please remember that we have only a short time to create these beautiful memories.
Since it's a mini session, all your photos will be taken in the same location. I will capture different poses, and I'll try to take photos of the kids alone, with mom and dad, and with each parent individually with their kids. However, the specific poses will depend on the time available for each family.
Plan your outfits, but don't stress over what to wear (you can read my blog for more tips on what to wear in my photo sessions, HERE). Matching outfits are a good option, but they may not suit everyone in your family. I suggest choosing mom's outfit first and then coordinating the rest of your family's attire. Try to avoid clashing patterns and overly bright colors.
Make sure your family has something to eat before the session, and take everyone to the bathroom before we start (yes, including dad!). If your kids have had a snack before the session, plan to put away any items you don't want in your photos. (You can also read my blog for more tips on having a photo session with kids.HERE)
You will get an email 1 week prior to your session with a reminder on you slot time, address and parking rules. Once you get there, you will see one of my assistants and they will guide you.
Here is the address for you to plan ahead: Addison Oaks tree farm, 355 Lake George Rd, Oakland Charter Township, MI 48363
Remember, this is more than just a photo; it's a memory you're creating with your family. Plan to have fun, hug and kiss your kids, let them be wild, and let them be themselves. I'll be there to capture who they are, not to judge their behavior. As a mom myself, I understand kids are wild and some of the most beautiful memories I've captured of my own kids are when I've simply stayed back and let them enjoy the moment.
I can't wait to see you!"
